The Mizoram Science Congress was formulated in a meeting of the state science NGOs representatives on 5th January, 2016 with an aim to promote science and technology in Mizoram. An organizing committee was constituted comprising of chairman, organizing secretary, joint secretary, financial secretary and 18 committee members. Subsequent meetings constructed sub-committees. However, the position of the different organizing committee posts are dynamic and subjected to change when required. The organizing committee is responsible for all the necessary actions demanded for the event.
The Mizoram Science Congress-2016 was the first of its kind held in Mizoram and was funded by North Eastern Council (NEC), State Planning Department, and Department of Science & Technology, Goverment of India.
2016: Science and technology for shaping the future of Mizoram.
2018: Perspective and trends in the development of science education and research.
Advances in science and technology profoundly rely on the sharing of research knowledge and findings and the opportunity for such presentation is the Mizoram Science Congress. Eminent researchers, scientists and academicians from different parts of the nation gathered with a common interest, the tantalizing inclination to ameliorate science and technology. Different trending topics will be addressed in this congress by prominent scientists, young researchers and by institutional students, and participants are expected from different departments of the Government of Mizoram as well as indigenous innovators. A parallel session of Mizoram Children Science Congress will also be hosted to inspire and promote science and technology among the fresh young minds.
Aims and Objectives:
i) To promote quality science education and research.
ii) To encourage students to pursue higher studies in the field of science and technology.
iii) To implement awareness on technological advances.
